Schools Broadband achieves Cyber Essentials Plus certification for another year
We’ve passed our annual Cyber Essentials Plus assessment, giving schools and MATs independent assurance that we protect our own systems and data to a high standard.
We’re delighted to confirm that Schools Broadband has once again achieved Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
We spend a lot of time helping schools and multi-academy trusts protect their networks from cyber threats. It’s only right that we hold ourselves to the same standards we encourage you to meet.
What is Cyber Essentials Plus?
Cyber Essentials is a government-backed scheme that sets out the core technical controls every organisation should have in place to guard against the most common cyber attacks. Cyber Essentials Plus goes a step further. Rather than relying on self-assessment, an independent assessor tests our systems directly to confirm those controls are working.
The assessment covers five areas: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management.
What it means for you
When you choose a provider for your broadband, filtering and cyber security, you’re trusting them with your network and your data. Cyber Essentials Plus gives you independent evidence that we invest in our own security, not just yours. It’s also useful to have on record if you’re reviewing suppliers as part of your school or trust’s cyber security or data protection checks.
Thank you to our team
A big well done to our security team for the high standards they continue to set, and to everyone across the business who plays a part in maintaining them.
