The Talk Straight Team have been volunteering at our chosen charity Zarach to lend a hand to those in Leeds who need it most. Zarach works with schools to identify children living in bed poverty, and delivers bed bundles including new beds, bedding, pyjamas and hygiene products.
Gary Volunteers at Zarach Food Club
“I spent the morning helping to pack 60+ boxes of groceries and fresh produce. At noon, the food club opened its doors to allow residents of Leeds who need help with the cost of living to come in and pick up a box. The club is run by an amazing group of regulars and volunteers, and it was plain to see the difference it makes to the lives of the people using the service.”

Sallie and Euan deliver beds
“Myself and my colleague Euan Davies spent a morning with the bed delivery team who deliver beds to families in the Leeds area who are struggling financially. The recipients of the bed bundles were so grateful and the kids were beyond excited. It was worth it just to see their faces light up when we arrived with not only a new bed, but bedding, PJ’s, teddies AND Easter eggs! A very humbling and rewarding morning working alongside some truly inspiring people.”

Jo and Hannah help out Healthy Holidays
“We spent the day volunteering at Zarach’s Healthy Holidays club. We had lots of fun and games including tenpin bowling, giant chess, crafts and the kids loved making Easter baskets. All the kids and families received a hot meal and everyone was given an Easter egg at the end. The volunteers there are inspiring and do a really great job.”
